If you are registered with us, we use your data to manage your account and provide the associated functionalities. If you make a purchase, we use your data to process your order, protect our legal claims, and fulfill our legal obligations. Using your contact details and other information, we can also display and send you tailored offers. With your consent, we may disclose your data to third parties for the purpose of displaying offers on other websites, as well as to provide you with access to certain additional services. We are entitled to process your personal data on the basis of the conclusion or performance of a contract with you, compliance with legal obligations, our legitimate claims, or your consent.

Within our operations, we process personal data for various purposes and to different extents, namely:

  1. without your consent, on the basis of the performance of a contract, our legitimate interest, or in order to fulfill legal obligations; or
  2. on the basis of your consent.

The type of data processing we can perform without your consent depends on the purpose for which the processing is associated and the relationship you have with us – whether you are merely a visitor to our online store, register with us, or make a purchase. If You Visit Our Online Store

Use of Cookies and Other Technologies, Disclosure of Data to Advertising and Social Networks

If you visit our online store, we store small files, such as cookies, on your device and subsequently read them from your device. A cookie is a small set of letters and numbers that we store on your web browser or on the hard drive of your computer. Some cookies allow us to link your activities across our websites from the moment you open a web browser window until you close it. When you close your browser window, the corresponding cookies are deleted. However, some cookies remain on your device for a predetermined period and are activated on every visit to the websites that created them. Furthermore, we also use web beacons (also known as “web beacons”). These are small images that serve a function similar to cookies. Compared to cookies that are stored on the hard drive of your computer, web beacons are an integral part of web pages. For simplicity, in this document we will refer to all such technologies simply as cookies. We store cookies on your device, including those that our websites have stored, and we also read them. For simplicity, in the remainder of this document, we will refer only to storage.

Some cookies are stored directly on your device by our websites. Such cookies help us to:

  • identify you when switching between different web pages on our domain and during repeat visits. This prevents the deletion of your shopping cart and allows us to remember your login on a specific device without requiring you to re-enter your email address and password. At the same time, we can store information about which version of our website to display if multiple versions are available at any given time;
  • determine whether you have given us consent in accordance with this document or, for example, if you have opted to participate in a specific survey;
  • ensure security, for example, by verifying that there has been no misuse of your connection to our website domain and that no one is acting on your behalf;
  • detect, analyze, and resolve errors and deficiencies in our websites.

Such cookies and other files are essential for the operation of our online store. If you disable cookies in your browser, it may happen that our websites do not function properly, and as a result, we may not be able to offer you the products from our range and services.

We also store on your device:

  • cookies from our websites that allow us to:
    • track the number of visits to our websites or individual content, generate statistics and reports, and measure the effectiveness of advertisements;
    • display different versions of our websites when we test new functionalities;
    • customize the content of our website to your needs, for example, by preferentially displaying products you have already searched for and showing other offers according to your preferences;
  • enable third parties to store cookies, which they may use:
    • to collect data about your behavior on our or other websites;
    • to display tailored offers and targeted advertisements within advertising and social networks on other websites outside our domain;
    • to connect with social networks such as Facebook, including automatic login, providing functions such as “Like”, displaying tailored offers and targeted advertisements on social networks and other websites outside our site.

For the purpose of displaying tailored offers and targeted advertisements within advertising and social networks on other websites outside our domain, we also provide advertising and social networks with data about your online behavior. However, we do not disclose your identification data to such partners. The list of social and advertising networks we use is provided in the section “Who Processes Your Personal Data and With Whom Do We Share It?”

If you do not disable the use of third-party cookies and the disclosure of your data to advertising and social networks under the Cookies tab, and if you click on any link on our website (outside of the warning box) or click the “I Understand” button that is part of the warning, it is considered that you agree to the use of the mentioned cookies and the disclosure of your data to advertising and social networks. You may withdraw your consent at any time by disabling this function under the Cookies tab.

Use of Personal Data of Website Visitors

If you visit the Conor's Adventure online store, we process data about your online behavior on the basis of our legitimate interest (i.e., without your consent) for the purposes of:

  • collecting data based on which we can improve our online store for you in the future to create better shopping conditions; in this case, our legitimate interest is to enhance our services for you;
  • creating statistics and reports, primarily by tracking the number of visits to our websites or individual content and measuring the effectiveness of advertisements; our legitimate interest in this regard is to measure the effectiveness of our websites and advertising costs; for this purpose, we may obtain and use additional derived data from your online behavior, or we may provide the derived data to our partners for commission calculation, as described in the section “Who Processes Your Personal Data and With Whom Do We Share It?”;
  • testing new functions and applications prior to their introduction, so as to avoid issues with the operation of these innovations during actual operation that could deteriorate your shopping experience with us; in this case, our legitimate interest is the seamless operation of our services for you;
  • taking measures against attacks on our websites and threats to their operation, as well as ensuring the security of your data; in this case, our legitimate interest is the smooth operation of our services for you and the security of your data.

We do not obtain data about your behavior on our websites solely through cookies. We also supplement them with the following data:

  • the IP address of your device (the address of your device through which you communicate with other devices on the network);
  • the operating system of your device, its version, and language settings;
  • the browser you use on your device, its version, and language settings;
  • the URL of the page from which you access our website.

For this purpose, we use personal data for a maximum of 38 months; we store the data only in pseudonymized form, that is, without connection to your identifying information (name, address, etc.).

We also process data about your online behavior on the basis of our legitimate interest (i.e., without your consent) for the purpose of preparing tailored offers and targeted advertisements that we display online. In this case, our legitimate interest is to provide you with the most suitably tailored and effective offers possible. We also enhance the aforementioned data through analysis and derive additional derived data for this purpose. Based on these data, we can segment our users into different groups, with each group receiving its own tailored offers. If you subsequently make a purchase with us, we will also use data about your orders for this purpose.

Thus, if you have searched for dry dog food in our online store or clicked on an offer in an email we sent you, that dog food may appear on the homepage of our online store during your next visit. Based on the type of food you searched for, we can estimate which customer group you belong to. Consequently, we may offer you other products on our websites that, in our opinion, might interest you.

Based on our legitimate interest (i.e., without your consent), we can also use your settings for testing new functions and applications prior to their introduction, as described in the section “If You Visit Our Online Store.”

For this purpose, we use your personal data for the duration of your account, which you can delete at any time.

If You Make a Purchase With Us

In order to make a purchase with us, you must visit our online store, so the processing described under “If You Visit Our Online Store” applies to you. If you make a purchase with us, the data processing further extends in the following way:

Processing Based on the Performance of a Contract

If you make a purchase with us as an individual, we process your personal data for the purpose of processing your order. This includes your identification and contact data, as well as data about your orders. If you have a user account with us, we may also use your settings for this purpose.

If you make a purchase with us as a representative of a legal entity, we process the same data for the same purpose on the basis of our legitimate interest, which is based on the conclusion and performance of a contract with the person you represent.

The use of data for the purpose of processing your order means that we use the data specifically for:

  • enabling the completion of your order online – for instance, ensuring that the items you added to your shopping cart are not deleted or that the order data in preparation is retained;
  • communicating with you, for example, by sending order confirmations or notifications regarding the dispatch of items;
  • processing payment for the goods;
  • facilitating the delivery of goods; in this regard, we may also disclose your data to our transportation partners solely for the purpose of delivering the goods, as described in the section “Who Processes Your Personal Data and With Whom Do We Share It?”;
  • handling complaints regarding the ordered goods or service; in this regard, we may also disclose your data to the supplier of the goods or the service center, as described in the section “Who Processes Your Personal Data and With Whom Do We Share It?”;
  • addressing your other requests directed to us, for example via telephone, as described in the section “If You Communicate With Us Through Various Channels.”

For this purpose, we use your personal data for the period necessary to process your order or to fulfill contractual obligations, such as complaints.

Processing Based on Legitimate Interest

If you make a purchase with us, we retain your identification and contact data, as well as data about your orders on the basis of our legitimate interest (without your consent) for the purpose of protecting legal claims and for our internal records and oversight. In this case, our legitimate interest is to protect legal claims and to monitor the regular performance of our services.

Furthermore, on the basis of our legitimate interest (i.e., without your consent), we process your identification and contact data, your settings, and data about your orders (if you subsequently make a purchase with us) for the purposes of:

  • collecting data on the basis of which we can improve our services for you in the future to create better shopping conditions, especially by determining your satisfaction with our services; in this case, our legitimate interest is to enhance our services for you; and
  • distributing tailored offers and targeted advertisements, which we can send to you via email, SMS messages, and social networks, or communicate to you by phone or through other electronic devices, or send via regular mail; in this case, our legitimate interest is the effective promotion of our products and services. To prepare tailored offers for you, we analyze all the aforementioned data (i.e., your identification and contact data as well as data about your orders) and derive additional derived data which we use for this purpose. Based on these data, we can segment our users into different groups, with each group receiving its own tailored offers. If you are not registered with us, we do not tailor the offers based on the products you have searched for on our websites.

Thus, if you have made a purchase of a particular dog product with us, we may address you with a tailored offer for an additional purchase. Based on your purchase, we can also infer which customer group you belong to. Consequently, we may send you an offer for related products that might interest you. If you do not have an account with us, we will not tailor the offers based on the products you searched for on our websites or the links you clicked in the offers sent to you.

For the purpose of designing tailored offers and targeted advertisements that we display on our websites, as described in the section “If You Visit Our Online Store,” we also use data about your orders.

We measure your satisfaction with our services based on an NPS survey that we send you by email. We send the questionnaire to random users who made a purchase with us in the past month. The survey results are used exclusively for our internal purposes.

To protect legal claims and to maintain our internal records and oversight, we process data for a period of 3 years plus an additional 1 year in connection with claims that are asserted until the end of the limitation period. In the case of legal, administrative, or other proceedings, we process your personal data for the period necessary for the duration of such proceedings and for the remainder of the limitation period after their conclusion.

For the purpose of protecting legal claims and our internal records and oversight, we process data for the duration of the limitation period, which is 5 years – and if necessary, an additional year after its expiration in the event of a claim asserted at the end of the limitation period. When initiating legal, administrative, or other proceedings, we process your personal data to the extent necessary for the duration of such proceedings and until the expiration of the remaining part of the limitation period after their conclusion.

For all other stated purposes, we use personal data for a maximum of 6 months,

You may object to such processing carried out on the basis of our legitimate interest.

3.3 Processing Based on the Fulfillment of Legal Obligations

We too are required to fulfill certain obligations prescribed by law. If we process your personal data for this reason, we do not require your consent for such processing. On this legal basis, we process your identification and contact data, as well as data about orders, in order to comply with the laws in force at the time of drafting this memorandum, in particular the following:

  • The Obligations Code (OZ),
  • The Consumer Protection Act (ZVPot),
  • The Value Added Tax Act (ZDDV-1),
  • The Act on Tax Certification of Invoices (ZDavPR),
  • The Accounting Act (ZR),
  • The Electronic Communications Act (ZEKom),
  • The Act on the Prevention of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism (ZPPDFT-1).

For this purpose, we use personal data for a maximum of 10 years (plus the current year) after the last issued document concerning your order.

If You Are the Recipient of Goods or Services Ordered From Us

If you are the recipient of goods or services ordered from us, we process your identification and contact data:

  • on the basis of our legitimate interest for the purpose of preparing, concluding, and executing a contract with our customer. The execution of this contract is also our legitimate interest;
  • on the basis of our legitimate interest in collecting data that will allow us to improve our services for you in the future, or for preparing our internal statistics and reports; in this case, our legitimate interest is to enhance our services for our customers;
  • for the purpose of fulfilling legal obligations, especially on the basis of the applicable laws listed in section B.3.3 of this memorandum;
  • for the purpose of protecting legal claims and our internal records and oversight; in this case, our legitimate interest is to protect legal claims and to monitor the regular performance of our services.

For the preparation, conclusion, and execution of a contract with our customer, we use personal data for the period necessary to process your order. After this period, we continue to retain the data on the basis of our legitimate interest for the purpose of protecting legal claims and for our internal records and oversight – namely, for the duration of the limitation period, which is 5 years, and if necessary, an additional year after its expiration in the event of a claim asserted at the end of the limitation period. When initiating legal, administrative, or other proceedings, we process your personal data to the extent necessary for the duration of such proceedings and for the remainder of the limitation period after their conclusion. In this case, our legitimate interest is to protect legal claims and to monitor the regular performance of our services. For the purpose of fulfilling legal obligations, we use personal data for a maximum of 10 years per order.

If you have any concerns regarding such processing based on legitimate interest, please contact us.

If You Communicate With Us Through Various Channels:

If you communicate with us through various channels – primarily via telephone, email, chat, and social networks – we process your identification and contact data as well as records of our communications, including voice recordings on the basis of our legitimate interest (i.e., without your consent) for the purposes of:

  • processing your requests; if you have made a purchase with us and your request relates to that order, we may process it on the basis of the performance of a contract with you;
  • recording your requests so that we can verify their regular and timely fulfillment;
  • demonstrating that we have received and processed your request – for example, if you order goods or file a complaint with us in this manner;
  • analyzing requests to improve the quality of our services.

For this purpose, we retain personal data for a period of 3 months. If you place an order through one of our channels, we may retain the data to protect legal claims for the limitation period of 5 years and an additional 1 year after its expiration in connection with claims asserted at the end of the limitation period. In the case of legal, administrative, or other proceedings, we process your personal data to the extent necessary for the duration of such proceedings and for the remainder of the limitation period after its termination.

If you have any concerns regarding such processing on the basis of legitimate interest, please contact us.

In the context of transferring data to recipients listed in the section “Who Processes Your Personal Data and With Whom Do We Share It?”, we may also transfer your data to third countries outside the European Economic Area, where an adequate level of personal data protection is not necessarily guaranteed. Such transfers will only be carried out if the respective recipient commits to comply with the standard contractual clauses issued by the European Commission, which are available at https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/PDF/?uri=CELEX:32016R0679&from=EN

What Are Your Rights in Connection With the Processing of Personal Data?

You have numerous rights in relation to your personal data. These include the right to access, review, delete, and restrict processing, the right to data portability, the right to object, and the right to lodge a complaint. You can review all of this HERE.

Just as we have our rights and obligations regarding the processing of your personal data, you also have certain rights in connection with the processing of your personal data. These rights include:

Right to be Informed

Simply put, you have the right to know what data we collect about you, for what purposes and for how long, from which sources we obtain your personal data, to whom we disclose it, who else processes it besides us, and what your other rights are in connection with the processing of your personal data. You can read all of this in the document “Customer Personal Data Protection”. However, if you are still not completely sure which personal data we collect about you, you may request confirmation from us as to whether we collect personal data concerning you, and if we do, you have the right to be informed about such data. In accordance with the right to be informed, you may request a copy of the processed data from us; we will provide the first copy free of charge, and any subsequent copies may be subject to a fee.

Right to Rectification

To err is human. If you notice that the personal data we hold about you is incorrect or incomplete, you have the right to request that we correct or complete it as soon as possible.

Right to Erasure

In certain cases, you have the right to have your personal data deleted. We will delete your personal data as soon as possible if one of the following conditions is met:

  • we no longer need your personal data for the purposes for which it was processed;
  • you have withdrawn your consent for the processing of personal data, where your consent was essential for processing such data and we do not have another legal basis for further processing;
  • you have exercised your right to object to the processing of data (see the section “Right to Object to Data Processing”) for personal data processed on the basis of our legitimate interest, and we acknowledge that we no longer have any legitimate interest that would justify further processing of such data; or
  • you believe that the processing of personal data we carry out is no longer in accordance with generally binding legal regulations.

Please note that even if one of the aforementioned conditions is met, this does not mean that all of your personal data will be immediately deleted. These rights cannot be exercised if the processing of your personal data remains necessary for the fulfillment of our legal obligations or for the establishment, execution, or defense of our legal claims (see the section “Why Do We Process Personal Data and Why Are We Entitled to Do So?”).

Right to Restriction of Processing

In some cases, in addition to the right to erasure, you may also exercise the right to restrict the processing of your personal data. This right allows you to request that your personal data be specifically marked and excluded from any processing procedures – in which case the effect is time-limited (and not permanent as in the right to erasure). We must restrict the processing of your personal data:

  • if you dispute the accuracy of the personal data, until we agree on which data is correct;
  • if we process your personal data without an appropriate legal basis (e.g., beyond the intended scope), and you prefer that such data be restricted rather than deleted (for example, if you anticipate that you will provide us with this data again in the future);
  • if we no longer need your personal data for the purposes described above, but you require it for the establishment, execution, or defense of your legal claims; or
  • if you lodge an objection to the processing of data. The right to object is described in more detail below under “Right to Object to Data Processing.” During the processing of your objection, we must restrict the processing of your personal data.

Right to Data Portability

You have the right to obtain from us all your personal data that you have provided and that we process on the basis of your consent (see the section “If You Provide Us With Your Consent”) and on the basis of the performance of a contract. We will provide your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format. The easy transfer of data is possible only for data that we process automatically in our electronic databases.

Right to Object to Data Processing

For reasons related to your particular situation, you have the right to object to the processing of personal data based on point (e) or (f) of Article 6(1) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679, as well as to object to data processing for the purposes of direct marketing (see the section “Why Do We Process Personal Data and Why Are We Entitled to Do So?”). We will immediately cease processing your data for marketing purposes; in other cases, we will do likewise, provided that we do not have any overriding legitimate grounds for processing or for asserting legal claims.

Right to Lodge a Complaint

The exercise of the aforementioned rights does not affect your right to lodge a complaint with the competent authority. You may exercise this right, particularly if you believe that we process your personal data unjustifiably or in violation of generally binding legal regulations. You may lodge a complaint regarding our data processing with the Information Commissioner at Bezjakova 29, 2341 Limbuš.

How Can You Exercise Your Rights?

Simply visit the subpage GDPR Tools and follow the instructions, or call us so that we can assist you.

We ask unregistered users to provide additional information required for processing their request. In case of any uncertainties or questions regarding this, please contact us at pija@conorsadventure.com or call +386 40 626 056, and our operators will assist you.

We will process your request as soon as possible, and in any event within one month. In exceptional cases, particularly when it concerns more complex requests, we reserve the right to extend this period by an additional two months. If such an extension becomes necessary, we will, of course, inform you of the reasons.

Data Protection Officer
